I can’t believe Sen. Biden is Obama’s running mate…I hate this guy…
Hard work pays off and cheating is wrong…unless you’re Sen. Joe Biden.
Do you know who Obama’s running mate is? He’s the enemy of steroid users everywhere…Senator Joe Biden. Joe is the author of the anabolic steroid control act of 1994, as well as a 1990 being a key player in the 1990 hearings which made anabolic steroids into Schedule III drugs, and making penalties for possession and distribution much more severe.
He claims that the ultimate equalizer, where hard work should determine the ultimate winner every time is sports. I’ll assume he has never heard of genetics, which clearly put some athletes at a greater advantage without ever putting in an ounce of training.
Someone like Ben Johnson would be able to beat me in a sprint without training, ever, at all…even if I trained day in and day out. Steve Prefontaine was claimed by his coach to have one of the naturally most efficient bodies for running ever examined – and a VO2 max that was naturally higher than anyone he competed against.
How in the world is that the “ultimate leveling experience” where all you need to win is hard work? Are we to believe that if someone who is 5’5” works harder than Lebron James, they’ll be a better basketball player? Or that at 17 years old, Lebron had already worked harder than 99% of the players in the NBA?
He claims that “Cheating is wrong” but does he really believe that? His track record would suggest otherwise.
When his “RAVE act” (Reducing America’s Vulnerability to Ecstasy”) was met with a lukewarm reception and little support from either the Senate who failed to pass the bill, or the public who recognized how absurd it was.
In one interpretation of it, club owners would be subject to prosecution for selling water, glowsticks, or pacifiers…or for providing a safe environment for people who could be using drugs and suffering dehydration.
Ultimately, this bill was renamed, and some of the language of the original act changed…then it was added as an (irrelevant) attachment to the (child abduction-related) Amber Alert Bill, and passed without a public debate, vote, hearing, or anything resembling the democratic process.
Nobody is going to vote against a bill that helps find abducted children. But is that really playing by the rules? Adding your own (irrelevant) drug-prosecution agenda to a bill that aids missing children? I think that’s cheating of the worst kind.
At least now we are finally safe from the scourge of pacifiers and glowsticks. Ecstasy, however, is just as popular and available as ever.
OH…wait…I forgot…hard work pays off, right Sen. Biden?
Sure…as long as you don’t have to actually do the hard work.
As I recall, in 1987, ran as one of the Democratic presidential candidates, and was ultimately disgraced and forced out of the running when he was accused of plagiarism in one of his speeches, which was almost identical to one given previously by the leader of the British Labour-Party.
Oops.
So it doesn’t sound like he really believes that cheating is wrong or that hard work pays off…
Of course, I’m only telling one side of the story….but that’s something I can actually say that Sen. Biden believes in wholeheartedly.
