Albany District Attorney David Soares - The Signature Pharmacy Prosecutor EXPOSED!

By now, you’ve probably already heard that Albany District Attorney David Soares botched the Signature Pharmacy bust, and failed to produce even enough evidence to take it to trial. But did you know that this crusader against drugs actually ran on a platform of drug reform? Yes, he actually ran on a platform, and got elected by, telling people he didn’t believe in the drugs laws of his state, and that they were outdated - he even promised to change them if he got elected!.

This is from an interview in Vibe Magazine:

“I don’t think any rationally sane person can look at America’s war on drugs and say it’s working.” ~ David Soares.”

He was elected to help with the drug law problem, and instead, he’s going after schedule III drugs in another state! Signature, you may recall, is located in Florida, not New York. All he’s done from day 1 was try to get himself all the gloryAnd now that he botched the investigation, you can bet there’s a lot of people in the Federal law enforcement community (yes, some of whom I speak to regularly), who aren’t too pleased with him. Signature was a federal operation, not a state one aimed at getting him all the glory, but he decided to jump ship and make the arrest himself. This hasn’t made it into any mainstream papers, but the word I’ve gotten is that federal agents were left scratching their heads when they saw him on the news, going after a high-profile bust on his own, when they had been working the case for years.

Too bad he fucked up getting it to trial, and his incompetence is now legendary - I’m no lawyer, but he could have ruined the federal charges also, and botched that end of things. And, reading between the lines when I spoke to several federal law enforcement agencies today, nobody wants to lend this guy a hand or work with him anymore. Why would they? He was part of a team, went out on his own to make the bust and get all the glory, then got bitch-slapped with his own incompetence.

Before this, he was called out by my buddies over at the NY Post for aiding in the Spitzer cover up…actually, they called him one of Spitzer’s other whores - which is why you may think the Post is a tabloid, but I love it. He has earned a reputation for being one of the most transparently power and glory hungry politicians in America now.

Even other prominent Albany Lawyers think that while he talked the drug reform talk, he didn’t walk the walk. Wow, a politician and a lawyer doing that? Who’d have guessed? He preached about going easy on pot heads and other low level offenders, and then when he got in office, he was tougher on them than anyone who’d held the office in recent memory. What the fuck?

Soares is up for re-election in November, and the Signature Pharmacy bust was going to be part of his new campaign. He’s come under fire before for being a political fraud, and for simply being a media hound… Now, I can’t imagine how he’s going to stay in office.
