Websites under surveillance… is your site on the list?

A few days ago, I told you that Operation Raw Deal is still going on, and is in fact, going to be happening for awhile. As I stated, this is information I got while interviewing numerous FBI and DEA agents for my upcoming book. It’s not a secret, it’s just not something that’s been getting much attention.

My friend Josh Peter, of Yahoo!Sports, told us that it wasn’t over, months ago:

“This is not a case with a beginning and an end,” he said. “I like to look at it more as an initiative.” ~DEA AGENT

By now, most people have seen this list of sources and labs who have been busted. I think with very few exceptions, I can give you a good idea of what sites I’d avoid (this is common-sense kind of stuff, but then again, so is a lot of what I write). The idea behind my writing this piece isn’t to attack the steroid community, or single out particular sites and people, but rather to give everyone a better understanding of just how far reaching Operation Raw Deal was (and is), and how bad of a time it is to be on the internet seeking steroids (*I will avoid the soapbox of saying “You should have a prescription and be monitored by a physician, like me…”).

I’d like to point out, at this juncture, that I have a very good track record for making predictions in the steroid world - and recently I’ve been getting a ton of emails telling me either that certain sites were in trouble, or asking me which sites aren’t…but really, I’d say no sites are safe right now, and I’d advise anyone and everyone who reads my blog to stay safe, and avoid doing illegal stuff.

Alright, let’s take care of the low-hanging fruit first. I’d certainly avoid all of the sites that were specifically named by the media during the busts. This includes:

1. ProfessionalMuscle.com

2. OutlawMuscle.com

Those two should be pretty obvious. I’d probably avoid most of the sites owned by the staff of OutlawMuscle also (this is nothing personal, it’s just the advice I think is prudent). Clearly I’d also avoid other sites owned by the owner of ProfessionalMuscle (Big A, a/k/a Andrei Cadariu - a Romanian who now lives in Australia):

3. Synthetek.com

4. RippedMass.org

5. Howtousesteroids.net

6. Anasci.org

Again, this should be obvious, since there is literally a laundry list of moderators, site veterans, and sponsors from Andrei’s sites have been busted in recent years, including (but not limited to):

Mike Schlanger (screen name: MikeS. - largest steroid bust in the history of Maryland and sentenced to less than the federal minimum, with no prison time), BigBadAsian (a/ka/ Stanley Szeto busted and claimed by Maverick to have rolled), ProPeptides/Gavin Kane (Busted, received no jail time, cut a deal in which most charges were dropped), Marerick/Powerline (busted - Cut deal to Plead guilty, Awaiting Sentencing), Mamta (named in indictment, but never apprehended), DomesticTabs, Redicat, and many others…all were on ProfessionalMuscle.com, and all went down.

Of course, I’d also want to avoid any sites which shared staff members with:

7. WorldWideBodybuilding.com

This site was owned by Jason M. Jones. Who went by the Screen Name “Decadense” (Read his arrest papers here: jasonmjones). After he was arrested, he quickly gave up all of his passwords to various forums. I’d say that any site he had access to is severely compromised, even though all of this happened a couple of years ago. Naturally, we’re talking about a real laundry list of sites here…this guy was either a vet, mod, or a member of half the medium-sized forums on the Internet. I’d also avoid the sites his ex-girlfriend was a staff on as well…because she was busted as a result of him, and although she immediately requested to be removed from several sites, they should still be considered compromised.

I’d also have to add any site owned by TestFreak, the former owner of:

8. ChemicallyEvolved.com

…and remember this is nothing personal. I knew TestFreak when he was a member of a few sites I frequented, but I never really got to know him very well. But, since ProPharm got busted because of a Confidential Informant on ChemicallyEvolved.com, I’d say that’s a good reason to avoid all of the sites associated with that staff and it’s owner. Nothing personal here, but that means I’d definitely avoid:

9. ChemicalSoldier.com

Next on my list of sites to avoid is:

10. GetAnabolics.com

This is the site mentioned in the court documents for the Superior Labs bust.

Of course, the site at ground zero for Operation Raw Deal was SteroidSuperBoard.com…and the moderators and staff who weren’t busted on that time around went on to start another site:

11. Muscleandscience.com

I’d avoid every site associated with those guys also. Naturally, this isn’t a complete list, and it’s pretty obvious (or should be at this point) that all of the major sites (Elite, Steroid.com, etc…) have law enforcement agents operating on them, hidden within the membership.

I’d also say, at this point, based on what I’m hearing through the ether that:

12. IronWarriorsFitness.com

13. BeyondMass.com

14. HardcoreMass.com

could all be receiving increased attention from law enforcement right now. And of course, I’d recommend re-reading this blog entry from me, because I bet the Houston/Texas area is in trouble right now, as is the NY/NJ/Conn Tri-state area.

Food for thought, huh?
